Expo scheduled on 24 and 25 February 2008 at the Victoria Park, Causeway
Bay, Hong Kong where they can take part in many entertainment programmes
and activities. |

Please be informed that all quotas for both local and overseas runner for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2010 are now full. The Organizer will NOT accept any further registrations on 26 & 27 February, 2010. We thank you for your support of this international event and look forward to seeing you at future Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathons.

Participants are advised to undertake adequate training before the event.
Participants are advised to consult medical advice from doctors if they are in doubt of their health condition prior to taking part in the race.
Please DO NOT repeat the application if you
have already applied to join a race through either
online registration or by post. Each application will
be counted as a separate entry and entry fee will

- If you do not receive an Acceptance Letter by 18 January 2010, you should call our service hotline at 2577 0800 before 25 January 2010 for assistance.

- In order to avoid congestion in queuing up for the runners' packs and to ensuring a smooth distribution, participants are advised to collect their runners' packs according to the specified date and time as indicated on the Acceptance Letter.

Returning
of Timing Chips |
Each successful participant will be provided with a Timing Chip. A deposit of HK$100 is required unless the runner already owns a Yellow Chip. The Timing Chip should be returned to the Chip Collection Counter at Victoria Park after the Race. If the Chip is not returned immediately after the race, it should be returned to Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association Office (Room 2015, Olympic House, 1 Stadium Path, So Kon Po, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong) IN PERSON* at the latest by 6 March 2010. Otherwise, the Organizer will forfeit your deposit without further notice. Chips which are not returned cannot be used in other races.
* Please do not return the Chip by post. The Organizer will not be responsible for any loss or damage, and runners will be charged for the loss or damage of chip accordingly. |

Participants must pay attention to the announcement from the Organizer, the radio, TV stations on API, and respectively take special notice of the following advice issued by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) when the general or the roadside API reaches 101-200 :
General API
Persons with existing heart or respiratory illness (such as coronary heart and cardiovascular diseases, asthma, chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive airways diseases) are advised to reduce physical exertion and outdoor activity.
Roadside API
Persons with existing heart or respiratory illness (such as coronary heart and cardiovascular diseases, asthma, chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive airways diseases) are advised to avoid prolonged stay in areas with heavy traffic. If it is necessary to stay in streets or roads with heavy traffic, they are advised to reduce physical exertion as much as possible.

- For Full Marathon, participants must be 18 years old or above. For Half Marathon and 10km Races,
particiants must be 16 years old or above. The Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association Limited
(" the Organizer") has the right to verify age of particiants before, during and after the race.
- Completed Entry Forms must be received no later than 31 December 2009 – the final deadline (on a first come first served basis).
- The Organizer reserves the right to close entries before deadline without any notice, when a quota of a race / start is full.
- Applications will only be processed after receipt of full payment of entry fee. Date of receipt of an application will be determined according to the postal stamp on the envelope.
- No award will be offered to participants who take part in 10km Run 1, 10 km Run 2, 10km Run 3, 10km Run 4 and Half Marathon Run 1. Only participants in each of these 3 categories of 10km Challenge, Half Marathon Challenge, Full Marathon Races will be able to contest for awards / prizes.
- In case of special need for a change of RACE after an entry has been accepted, a written application is required to be made before 7 January 2010. This should be accompanied by a cheque of HK$50 made payable to “Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association Limited”. The Organizing Committee will assess the applications, and the accompanied cheques will be returned to unsuccessful applicants.
- The Organizer reserves the right to limit and refuse entries without reason.
- The Organizer reserves the right to contact and to interview applicants by phone or otherwise for additional information required for matters relating to his or her application.
- Entry fees are non-refundable. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse entry to for any applicant who provides false information does not make the required payment, or fails to meet entry requirements as stated in the Entry Form.
- Should the event be cancelled, a refund of 50% of the entry fee will be made before 30 April 2010 and the Organizer shall have no further responsibility thereafter.
- Any person who is pregnant or suffering from any chronic disease such as heart disease or high blood pressure should not participate in the event. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow / disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event. The Organizer also reserves the right to disqualify any person and / or nullify his or her result for any violation, breach or non-observance of any IAAF rule or regulation. The Organizer shall not be obliged to refund any entry fee for such disallow / disqualified person.
- All participants must ensure that they are medically and physically fit to participate in the race. By submitting his or her entry, each applicant agrees to obey and accept all the terms and conditions of participation as herein contained and as shall from time to time be introduced by the Organizer.

- Entry and Timing Chip are non-transferable.
- The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify or exclude any person from competition who gives incorrect personal data / details on the entry form, who has been banned from competition under IAAF jurisdiction, or who is suspected of having taken banned substances. No refund of entry fee will be made.
- No result or certificate will be given to runners who do not start in the race time assigned to them by the Organizer.
- Particiants must retire from the race immediately, if asked / requested to do so by any member of the officials, medical staff, race director, referees and / or security officers / Marshals.
- No pets or any form of wheel-run objects of transport, e.g. wheel chairs (except designated athletics from Hong Kong Paralympic Committee & Sports Association for the Physically Disabled), bicycles, skates, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers, etc. are allowed on the course.
- Particiants are not allowed to run with babies or children who are under aged 16 and unregistered runners.
- In order to ensure the re-opening of roads to normal traffic by 1:30 pm, the Organizer will designate Cut Off Times at specified locations. Runners failing to reach these specific locations within times specified must stop their races and board the Official Buses when asked by Route Officials and Marshals. The buses will take these runners back to the Finish venue.
- For prize winners or potential prize winners, disputes and appeals must be made at the Finish within 30 minutes of the published results on the results board on-site or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier.
- For all other particiants, disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in writing, including return email address within 7 days after the race day. The Organizer reserves the rights not to entertain any dispute or appeal after 6 March 2010.
The HKAAA reserves the right to interpret or amend the above rules.
